JOB SUMMARY:
Position Title: Jr-Level Facilities Technician
Location: NYC
Reports to: Sr. Manager, Facilities Management & Construction – US
Status: $20 - $25/Hour
About the Role:
The position of Jr-Level Technician will be based in NYC and will be part of the FM&C team. The role will be reporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Facilities Management & Construction – US.
This position is responsible for performing a variety of handyman and semi-skilled tasks related to the repair and maintenance of JOE facilities and equipment with general supervision and in accordance with approved JOE policies, procedures and project plans. The Jr-Level Technician is expected to collaborate with leadership, vendors and cross-functional stakeholders with completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs handyman and semi-skilled repair and maintenance tasks involving, but not limited to, smaller carpentry, plumbing, and electrical, and mechanical repairs.
- Completes all assigned work orders within the allotted SLA guidelines.
- Manages all assigned work orders through a CMMS and assists with providing specifications for quotes as necessary.
- Diagnoses root causes of equipment and systems failures for the purpose of identifying equipment or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
- Assists with scheduling, budgeting, reporting, cost control, and inspections/monitoring as it relates to assigned work orders
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or above with 1-3 years of progressively responsible experience in general facilities repair and maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate professionally, verbally, and in written form with internal and external partners
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and have strong interpersonal skills to work in a team environment across
- Excellent time management, organizational, coordination, critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform and manage technically semi-complex projects using independent judgment and personal initiative
- Must be flexible for travel and working off-hours as needed for project requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Proficiency in a Computerized Maintenance Management System preferred
- Must possess a valid New York driver's license
- Must be able to lift and move up to 75lbs
- Must be able to climb stairs/ladders and work on scaffolding and work in extreme weather conditions
